About the Society

The PenRose Society...

    Is a syndicate - a collective - of nerds and geeks alike who have a yearning to preserve excellence in literature. Nowadays, so many have forgotten what good literature is like, because commercial fiction is becoming more and more dominant in our culture. We, however, strive to preserve good, clean literature that causes you to think, feel, better yourself, and bring a new light on your worldview. We want to uplift literature that challenges you and enhances your character. We want to endorse literature that is really worth reading.

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." (Philippians 4:8)

This is essentially our mission statement, our goal: to uplift the uplifting.

     We try to meet monthly and discuss our latest reads and peer edit each others' writings so that we can be challenged and are able to see where we need to improve. Sometimes, our writings will be posted on this blog. Others will be eventually published.
     We write because we love it. We write because sometimes thoughts shouldn't be silenced, but they shouldn't be spoken either. We write because God has given us the ability to use one of the greatest miracles given - our mind, and another - our hands, to further his kingdom through imagination and concentration and pure philosophy and theology combined.
       
     We bleed onto paper so others may live.
